Formulas & examples (copy-paste)

1) FILTER — extract matching rows

Show rows where Product = "Apple" (table in A2:F13):

=FILTER(A2:F13, A2:A13="Apple", "No matches found")

Requires Excel 365 / Excel 2021+

2) SORT — reorder data dynamically

Sort the table by Date (column B) newest first:

=SORT(A2:F13, 2, -1)

3) UNIQUE — generate distinct lists

Create a live dropdown source of unique products:

=UNIQUE(A2:A13)

4) TEXTJOIN — combine values with a delimiter

Combine Regions that sold "Apple" into one cell:

=TEXTJOIN(", ", TRUE, FILTER(C2:C13, A2:A13="Apple"))

5) XLOOKUP — modern, flexible lookup

Find the Price for "Banana":

=XLOOKUP("Banana", A2:A13, E2:E13, "Not found")

How to use these with the video

  • Open your workbook and paste the demo data (or use your own table).
  • Copy the formulas into a blank cell — they spill automatically.
  • Change criteria (e.g., "Apple") to a cell reference for dynamic filtering.
