To identify a missing value, what we usually do is go into Microsoft Excel and calculate a sum.
We take the total value and subtract the known values to get the missing one manually.
But this process is time-consuming and old-fashioned.
Instead, we can use the Goal Seek feature in Excel to automate this task.
Start by adding up the known values and leave the unknown one blank.
Use the 'What-If Analysis' feature under the Data tab.
Click on 'Goal Seek' and fill in the total you want to reach.
